I am attaching a link to a screenshot of how I have Ableton setup.
Basically Clyphx is amazing and was the answer to my problem. Sorry to bring back an old thread, but I thought I would share the solution that worked for me just in case someone else out there has the same need and finds this thread. Song scenes are mapped to buttons on a controller and when we fire a scene, all of the automation is set, including sending BANK & PGM changes to the instruments that are routed through that track. When we want a track muted, we simply add automation to the clip in that track's scene to control the track's buttons. You could use follow actions, but that means you have to setup follow action on every track in every scene. The song simply proceeds down the line, firing off each subsequent scene when the previous scene is over (facilitated through the use of Isotonik's FOLLOW SCENE Max 4 Live device). Are you using Session View or Arrangement View to layout your peformances?Įither works, but I find that Session View works better for our setup because on occasion we repeat sections of songs (which can also be done in Arrangement View.) Much of it is a matter of preference.Īnyway, let's say Scenes 1-10 represent a song where scene 1 is the count in and 2 is the intro, and 3 is the first stanza, etc. There are so many different ways to handle this situation, but one thing needs to be known first.
